These are the two pages I have done for the Handmade Flowers Layout Competition on the Scrapbook City Blog. Sorry the photos are not real clear but I am still struggling to take good quality photos of my layouts. Obviously it is a double page layout. These photos were taken on our recent camping trip to Yamba and us ladies in the photo on the first page are the mothers of the lovely girls on the second page. I would not normally scrap photos of young girls on black however this idea just came to me when I decided that I wanted to use bright flowers and I was inspired by the dark background of the photo of the girls. I have used the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die which I just LOVE, a couple of flowers from a Hot Off the Press Template which you cut out and fold, punched flowers, the instructions that were posted by Michelle to do the fan folded flowers and have tied little knots in ribbon which hopefully look like hyacinths. I have also used ribbon, pearls on wire and lots and lots of kindy glitz - I just love that stuff. My title has been inspired by the fact that the girls call each other "Besties" and I think us Mum's are pretty fantastic too. I really love these layouts because of what they represent to me i.e. great friendships and reminders of a fabulous week camping!!! Thanks for the competition SBC and I am hoping to participate in more of these over the coming weeks.
